LATEST NEWS നീല്‍ ആംസ്‌ട്രോങ് അന്തരിച്ചു Published on  26 Aug 2012 വാഷിങ്ടണ്‍: ചന്ദ്രനില്‍ ആദ്യമായി കാലുകുത്തിയ മനുഷ്യന്‍ നീല്‍ ആംസ്‌ട്രോങ് അന്തരിച്ചു. 82 വയസ്സായിരുന്നു. ഈ മാസാദ്യം ഹൃദയശസ്ത്രക്രിയയ്ക്കു വിധേയനായതിനെത്തുടര്‍ന്നുണ്ടായ ആരോഗ്യപ്രശ്‌നങ്ങളാണു മരണകാരണമെന്നു കുടുംബവൃത്തങ്ങള്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. അമേരിക്കന്‍ ബഹിയാകാശയാത്രികരായ നീല്‍ ആംസ്‌ട്രോങ്ങിനെയും എഡ്വിന്‍ ആല്‍ഡ്രിനെയും വഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുള്ള 'അപ്പോളോ 11' പേടകം 1969 ജൂലായ് 20നാണു ചന്ദ്രനിലിറങ്ങിയത്. മിഷന്‍ കമാന്‍ഡറായ ആംസ്‌ട്രോങ്ങാണ് ആദ്യം ചന്ദ്രോപരിതലത്തില്‍ കാലുകുത്തിയത്. തുടര്‍ന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം ഉച്ചരിച്ച ആദ്യവാചകം പിന്നീട് ചരിത്രത്തിലിടം നേടി: 'മനുഷ്യന് ഇതൊരു ചെറു കാല്‍വെപ്പ്; മാനവകുലത്തിനാവട്ടെ വലിയൊരു കുതിച്ചുചാട്ടവും.' മൂന്നു മണിക്കൂറോളം ചന്ദ്രോപരിതലത്തില്‍ നടന്നശേഷമാണ് ആംസ്‌ട്രോങ്ങും ആല്‍ഡ്രിനും ഭൂമിയിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിയത്. യു.എസ്സിലെ ഒഹായോയില്‍ 1930 ആഗസ്ത് അഞ്ചിനു ജനിച്ച ആംസ്‌ട്രോങ് 16-മത്തെ വയസ്സില്‍ പൈലറ്റ് ലൈസന്‍സ് സ്വന്തമാക്കി. എയ്‌റോസ്‌പേസ് എന്‍ജിനീയറിങ്ങില്‍ ബിരുദാനന്തരബിരുദം നേടിയ അദ്ദേഹം യു.എസ്. നാവികസേനയില്‍ വൈമാനികനായി. കൊറിയന്‍ യുദ്ധത്തില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു. പിന്നീട് വ്യോമസേനയില്‍ ചേര്‍ന്നു. 1962ല്‍ യു.എസ്. ബഹിരാകാശ ഗവേഷണ ഏജന്‍സിയായ 'നാസ'യില്‍ പരിശീലനത്തിനു തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു. 1971ല്‍ 'നാസ'യില്‍നിന്നു വിരമിച്ചശേഷം സിന്‍സിനാറ്റി സര്‍വകലാശാലയില്‍ എയ്‌റോസ്‌പേസ് എന്‍ജിനീയറിങ് അധ്യാപകനായി ഒരു ദശകത്തോളം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചു.

വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികളില്‍ നിന്ന് സന്നദ്ധസേവകരെ വാര്‍ത്തെടുക്കുക എന്ന ഉദ്ധേശത്തോടെ 2011 നവംബറില്‍ Dreamer's India രൂപം നല്കിയ പദ്ധതിയാണ് ലേണ്‍ ഇന്ത്യ. വര്‍ഷത്തില്‍ രണ്ടു പ്രാവിശ്യം വീതം പ്രത്യേകം തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപെട്ട 16നും 22 നും ഇടയില്‍ പ്രായമുള്ള മുപ്പതോളം വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികള്‍ക്ക് സൗജന്യമായി സന്നദ്ധസേവനത്തിന്റെയും സാമൂഹ്യപ്രവര്ത്തനത്തിന്റെയും ബാലപാഠങ്ങള്‍ കൈമാറുന്ന പദ്ധതി വരും തലമുറകളുടെ ആത്മാവുകള്‍ സമ്മേളിക്കുന്ന ഇടങ്ങള്‍ കൂടിയാണ്. കേരളത്തിലെ അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന സാമൂഹ്യ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരും പരിസ്ഥിതി പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരും അവരുടെ അനുഭവങ്ങള്‍ കൈമാറ്റം ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ സംഗമത്തില്‍ Life Skill Development, Leadership Quality Development തുടങ്ങിയ മനശാസ്ത്ര ക്ലാസുകളും വിദ്യാര്ഥികള്‍ക്കായി ഒരുക്കാറുണ്ട്. 2011 ഡിസംബറില്‍ നടത്തിയ ലേണ്‍ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ സീസണ്‍ 1 ല്‍ മുപ്പതോളം വിദ്യാര്ഥികള്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കുകയും Dreamer's Indiaയിലൂടെ സാമൂഹ്യ ഇടപെടലുകള്‍ നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു.

We, an activists group of Malappuram Dist of Kerala the most drug consuming dist in India, recently formed a society – kerala health careseekers mutual service society – to intervene in the market of essentials to healthcare

Here are some statistics that remind us of the challenges in the Indian healthcare domain:

• Over 30% people in rural India and 20% in urban India don’t seek treatment for lack of financial resources.
• Every year nearly 39 million people in India are pushed into poverty because of ill-health.
• The common man spends 72% of out-of-pocket expenditure on drugs.
• India’s current public spending on health at 0.94% of GDP is among the lowest in the world.

In such a scenario, the work undertaken by kerala healthcare seekers mutual service society gains significance. The society , through its direct intervention programs at primary healthcare level and through sustain lobbying & advocacy on health policy with state & national governments .

Our first venture is a life saving drug store chain running on no-profit no- loss basis to reduce the cost of drugs .Along with this we wish to promote the necessasity of generic drugs among health careseekers . This initiative is mainly targeted to help the marginalised community. This has been able to effect positive changes in the communities it serves.

• Should be the First Year student of Plus Two/ UG/ PG/ Ph.D Course of Higher Secondary School/ College/ Institutes/ University, which is either a Govt/ Aided/Recognised Unaided Institution./11th Class/Technical/ Vocational Course of ITI/ITC Centres affiliated to NCVT./Course, other than those listed in under merit-cum-means scholarship scheme. (The names of courses listed under Merit-cum-means scholarship are given in See Instructions for details.)
• Should belong to Minority Community (Muslim/ Christian/ Buddhists/ Sikh/ Zoroastrians or Parsis).
• Should have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous Board/ University Examination.
• The Annual Family Income should not exceed Rs. 2 Lakhs.
• Should not be availing any other Scholarship or Stipend.

 Documents to be Enclosed Along With the Registration Printout.

• Self‐attested passport size photograph pasted on the Registration printout.
• Attested copies of Mark lists of all Examinations from Matriculation onwards, passed by the candidate.
• Income declaration – affidavit (as shown in Appendix‐III) on non‐judicial stamp paper of Rs. 10/‐ for self‐employed parents/guardian or income certificate from the employer for employed parents.
• (i)An affidavit (as shown in Appendix‐IV) on non‐judicial stamp paper of Rs10/‐by the student that he/she belongs to any one of the Minority communities notified by Central Government; OR (ii) Community Certificate from the competent authority.
• (i) An affidavit (as shown in Appendix V) on non judicial stamp paper of Rs.10/‐by the student regarding his/her place of residence/nativity; OR (ii) Nativity Certificate from the competent authority
• Attested copy of the first page of Bank Passbook in the name of the student, showing the Account Number and Name, Code and Address of the Branch.
• Accommodation Certificate in case of Hostelers.

Rate of Scholarship

Actual financial assistance will be provided for admission & course /tuition fee and maintenance allowance as given below subject to a maximum ceiling indicated against item concerned:Download Rate of Scholarship.

Application Procedure

1. Application can be submitted only ONLINE at www.dcescholarship.kerala.gov.in
2. Students are required to register themselves in this site before applying for this scholarship. The Registration page can be accessed at, i. Home Page> Online Registration OR Home Page> Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) > Apply Online.For details of Registration, see Guidelines provided in the Registration page.
3. Candidates are required to take a Printout of the Registration Form after submitting (after SUBMIT button is clicked) their application online.

Other Information

• Candidate should have a Saving Bank account in State Bank of Travancore (SBT)/ State Bank of India (SBI) / Federal Bank/ South Indian Bank in her/his name. The candidate should be in possession of the Bank account Number and the Branch Code.
• Scholarships will not be given to more than two students in a family.
• The scholarships will be sanctioned in accordance with the criterion laid down by the Central Government.
• Candidates are to submit the Printout along with the supporting documents (listed in para.6) to the Head of their Institution
•  The candidate can edit the online data until it is verified by the verifying officer.
